Section 7 of Act 66 of 1965 - the surviving spouse, nearest relative or person who has control of the premises at which the death occurs must report the death to the Master.
If there is no will in the estate a next-of-kin affidavit must be lodged to ascertain who the heirs in the estate will be.
Section 9 of Act 66 of 1965 - if a person dies leaving any property in Namibia, an inventory must be submitted to the Master and should reflect all known property of the deceased at the time of death.
Nomination of an Executor/ Estate Representative
Beneficiaries must nominate an Executor/ Estate Representative to administer the deceased estate if there is no valid will or there is no nomination in the will.

The Acceptance of Trust as Executor contains an acceptance of office as executor/trix and contact details of the nominee.
Undertaking by the Estate Representative
Undertaking by the Estate Representative contains the acceptance of the appointment, contact details of the Estate Representative and instructions by the Master for the administration of the estate.
